Our newly renovated and private estate is situated on 3+ acres of Colorado desert landscape amidst the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It is a resort-like hacienda of ~4,500 sq. ft., with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, and it sleeps 6-14 guests, with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. For smaller groups, the main residence alone may be rented for 6-10 guests (see our "Rates and Reservations" page...).
The ~4,000 sq. ft. main residence has extensive vaulted ceilings, 4 bedrooms with king beds and 3 full bathrooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen with center island and wet bar, an adjoining den with an audio/video entertainment area, a formal dining room seating up to 12 guests, a grand living room with an audio/video entertainment area and billiard area, and a spacious laundry room. The ~500 sq. ft. casita has 2 bedrooms with kitchenettes and 2 full bathrooms and is virtually independent of the main house, with rooms equipped like a luxury resort. The vast ~1,100 sq. ft. garage accommodates 4 vehicles! You enter under a deep veranda to begin your dream vacation. The home is a grand hacienda with a Spanish tile roof, peach stucco walls, wrought iron sconces, soaring beamed ceilings, all tile floors, an enormous cantera stone fireplace in the living room and tile floors throughout. The home is decorated with quality furnishings, offering a range of styles that will please any taste. Artwork includes dramatic human images by Mexican cubist Diego Rivera, southwestern metal sculpture by Christopher Crooks, and original works of Latin-American folk art. The home offers many opportunities for a relaxed, luxurious vacation and has quality amenities, including broadband Wi-Fi internet, two big screen LCD HDTV's, two surround sound systems with Blu-ray DVD/CD players and iPod docks, a desert "B movie" DVD library, eclectic music CD library, wine captain, 8-foot pool table, board games and reference book library focused on local culture and nature. Step outside to the 12-foot deep shaded veranda running the length of the hacienda. Look out to a sun washed, walled and private courtyard bordered by citrus trees, palm trees and colorful desert plants. The courtyard centerpiece is the sparkling pool and heated spa. You’ll enjoy amazing 360 degree views of the San Ysidro, Santa Rosa and Vallecito Mountain ranges that frame the Borrego Valley. Consider a unique getaway! Close your eyes. Dream of a perfect desert vacation. On calm mornings you'll enjoy vivid sunrises over Fonts Point and the cooing of mourning doves. On brilliant afternoons you'll glimpse darting roadrunners as you toss horseshoes in the shade of mature mesquite trees. In the evening you can grill dinner on the north patio while taking in a glorious sunset over Indian Head Mountain. On crystal clear nights you can toast skewered marshmallows over mesquite coals in the large fire pit and soothe your body and soul in the swirling spa under a dark celestial sky. Finally, drift off to sleep while listening to the muffled hooting of an owl and communal cries of distant coyotes. Dream on. Total indulgence; just laughing, swimming, or walking in a field of desert wildflowers; and talking with family and friends.
